The greenfield airport is coming up in the Jewar area of western Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar district, around 75 km from Delhi, and will be the second international airport in the National Capital Region (NCR).

The construction of the future Noida International Airport (NIA) is proceeding according to plan and will be completed by the end of 2024 while staying within the approved budget, a top project officer said on Thursday, despite the effects of COVID-19 and inflation. The second international airport in the National Capital Region is currently under construction. It will be located in the Gautam Buddh Nagar district of western Uttar Pradesh in the Jewar area (NCR). For a 40-year period, Zurich Airport International AG (ZAIA), a company located in Switzerland, will design, construct, and manage the airport under a concession agreement. The Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), a fully-owned subsidiary of the ZAIA, is the project’s implementing organization. The NIA is a public-private partnership initiative of the Uttar Pradesh government. Christoph Schnellmann, the chief executive officer of YIAPL, stated at a press conference in Greater Noida, “We are on schedule to deliver the project in accordance with the terms and conditions of the concession agreement.
